Important Notice: Verification of NBCMI Certifications and Credentials



NOTICE: It has come to our attention that there are individuals that have falsified NBCMI certificates who are neither CMI certified or Hub-CMI credentialed. We urge interpreters and hiring entities to be extra vigilant. Individuals with a true certification or credential from the NBCMI will have a CMI or Hub-CMI number. These numbers are not publicly visible; however, they can be used to search for interpreters’ names, languages, and area of service on our interpreter registry.

Though we do not require CMIs or Hub-CMIs to have an NBCMI badge, they are encouraged due to their usefulness in further verifying an interpreter’s identity and qualifications. Interpreters can order a badge using the following link:
