The National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters is very pleased to announce the:
NBCMI 2022 Hub-CMI Scholarship Program

In recognition of medical interpreters for their resiliency and dedication during these unprecedented times, the National Board will award fifteen (15) scholarships for the Hub-CMI credential. The award will include registration and one written exam.

Who is eligible for the scholarship program?

  • All interpreters who do not have a CMI pathway qualify.
  • You must attend the CHIA conference for 2022.
  • Hub-CMI applicants are required to meet all prerequisites (including language proofs, medical interpreter training, and a high school or college diploma) to establish basic competency.
  • This scholarship is only for new applicants.

When is the application period?

  • Application period begins on Friday May 13th, 2022 and ends May 27th, 2022.
  • Awards will be granted to the first 15 interpreters who submit all prerequisites.
  • Scholarships will be awarded by July 15.

  • The grantee must complete the scholarship by July 15, 2023. It will expire after one year, is non-transferable, and cannot be redeemed for cash or substituted for other services (i.e., recertification).
